DOUBLE CHAMPS!

Mighty mighty Lions completed the league and cup double by destroying Coundon Court 4-0. From the outset Lions once again showed their cup final form by outpassing and outplaying their opposition. Within 5 minutes Lions should have been 2 up with Danni and Lydia both going close after superb work from Tyler, Nicki and Chelsea. Lions continued to put the pressure on and from one of these attacks Coundon Court cleared their defence only for it to fall to Pindi who hit a pearler of a shot from 30 yards straight into the back of the net, nearly breaking the net. This revved Lions up into top gear and Chelsea put the pass of the saeson through for Lydia to bury it and make it 2. The third was soon to follow. Lydia and Ella were causing all sorts of problems for Coundon's defence and following some great work from Clare and Yash it was soon 3 with Lydia finishing with her normal finnesse.

The 2nd half saw Coundon finally putting some pressure on the Lions goal but Sophie, Clare, Katie and Emma all stood firm with Zara marshalling her defence with great control as she has done all season. The second half continued with both sides going close until midfield rock Pindi sent Megan away on one of her sizzling left wing runs leaving Coundon's defence in termoil, then hitting a thunderbolt shot to make it 4. Lions continued to dominate and finished with an emphatic victory. Lions have showed why they are true champions by always looking to play a great passing game. Well done Lions for a Great season.
